+### Troubleshooting frontend access from another machine
+
+When developing Plone with Volto on a remote server, virtual machine (VM), Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), or any environment where you access the frontend from a different machine than where it runs, you may encounter a problem where the page loads but CSS styles are missing.

+This happens because the frontend development server references `localhost` for Hot Module Replacement (HMR) assets.
+When accessing from another machine, the browser tries to load CSS and JavaScript from `localhost:3001` on the remote machine, which fails.

+Set the `HOST` environment variable to the IP address or hostname of the server when starting the frontend.
