What is Text2MAL?

Text2MAL is a free, web-based tool designed to solve a specific problem for Anime and Manga fans: Migrating lists.

If you have a backup of your watched anime or read manga in a Notepad file, Excel sheet, or another website, manually adding them to MyAnimeList (MAL) one by one is tedious. Text2MAL automates this process by converting your text list into a MAL-compatible XML file, which you can import in seconds.

• Auto-Season Detection: (Exclusive to Anime Mode) Just type the main name (e.g., "Attack on Titan"), and the tool can automatically fetch and add all related Seasons, OVAs, and Movies for you.

• Smart Verification: The tool shows you exactly which anime it found. If it picks the wrong version (e.g., a Movie instead of the TV Series), you can swap it using the Switch Version feature before downloading.

How to Use

Step 1: Prepare Your List

Make sure you have your list ready. The format should be one name per line.

Tip: Clean names (without episode numbers or dates) work best.

Step 2: Paste & Process

1. Go to Text2MAL.
2. Select Anime or Manga mode.
3. Paste your list into the box.
4. (Optional) Enable "Auto-add all Seasons" if you want to fetch sequels automatically.
5. Click Start Processing.

Step 3: Review & Download

1. The tool will generate cards for each entry.
2. Review them. If any entry is incorrect, click the 🔄 (Rotate) icon to choose the correct version.
3. Click the Download XML button.

Step 4: Import to MyAnimeList

1. Go to the official MAL Import Page.
2. Select "MyAnimeList Import" as the format.
3. Upload the .xml file you just downloaded.
4. Done! Your profile is now updated.
