I probably don't have time to scale this, but just dropping here as a suggestion. A few things:

  • Use the tile base shape instead of a circle
  • Don't overlay black. This makes your colors look muddy and ugly. Always overlay white instead
  • For the border use multiply blend mode, this will give you less bad darker colors
  • Make the dropper larger, have it break out of the shape, and give it some more dimension. It's a lot more interesting and dynamic to mess with the silhouette a bit

Unsure about switching to tile. All elementary and a lot of community are tile based. Makes everything blend into generic uniform sameness

While we are still considering the proposal and genuinely appreciate the spontaneous effort and any sort of contribution,
it does not feel good on a personal level (and influences our judgment in the matter thereof) to have to follow your lead yet again, this time on a community project when we avoid elementary for the inflexibility outside of code quality, and as Stella and June still choke on the m3u incident.

I write for the records that we may let this one sit a bit until we all feel fine with it, or unless Phoneybadger or Ryo insist for it, please do not expect quick approval

@teamcons you absolutely don't need to interact with my branches if you don't want to. This branch is not ready to be reviewed (it's marked as draft). I'm also not sure if you're aware but I am an owner of this GitHub organization

Yes, we know, you can force it if you want to.

Edit S:

I'm also not sure if you're aware but I am an owner of this GitHub organization

american-authority-stick-waving is only discouraging us further. We just want to dig out old apps, refresh your DE's ecosystem, and make people happy, not play that shit. Dont go that route. Please. We're sick of authority-stick-waving. It only hurts everyone in the end.

@teamcons that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that you have no right to tell me that I'm not allowed to contribute to projects in an organization that I own. You are free to ignore my branches but I will not stop contributing to open source projects in my own community because it makes you personally uncomfortable for some reason

Edit: I see you've moved a bunch of projects out of the commons org. I'll close this and I won't interact with your new org in any way to respect your wishes

@danirabbit Theres two routes:
-either you step down from ellie-commons, and it means no future authority waving possible, we move the projects we're revived and worked on back. It is fine for you to contribute, but equal to equal, as collaborators not as grunt and owner, and we'd happy to consider this one.

-or you show absolutely everyone that you're happy to nuke bridges if it means keeping control and final say over everything, always. We will keep working on these apps, but without someone who consider it fine to trample on it without discussion.

We arent asking for you to stop, we are asking to not have your authority over us for community work and that is done with talking, not authority-waving.
