Over the years, it seems that Open-Source projects have standardized on having a since LICENSE file at the top level of the repo and no longer in the source files. Removing the symlink and putting a single LICENSE file at the top.
Moving the explanation that the corpus files may have their own licenses to the README.md file to make it easier for automated tools (like GitHub) to pick up on the fact that if you have a one-line explanation of the project, it's BSD 3-Clause.
Nothing intended to change the license in any way. Just making it more standard in location and language.
