Log output to a file rather than just spamming stdout

We need a logger facility and some way of catching tracebacks.

I'd like to see a system where you can do something like "logger(message, levels)". That way you could send certain messages to stdout, and general stuff to a file

I quite like this idea, It would be nice to have more generic ways of output I don't know if this was your idea but it'd be cool if it could be not only stdout or file but a socket or formatted file (xml, json, html, etc..) into a curses interface or some sort of GUI.

If we have a generic interface it could be quite good and nice to extend this in a future and for now just have the stdout and file.

Yeah, I'd like it to be as extensible as possible, even to the point of spitting the log back out onto IRC :P

That would be very good, especially for debugging if you could get it to return the traceback to a dedicated channel. I really like the idea of having the log go to anywhere that could take it.
