SOF release calendar for 2025

Is there a SOF release calendar for 2025? Are we aligning with Zephyr release train?

Yes - we are indeed aligning with the Zephyr release train of every 4 months. https://docs.zephyrproject.org/latest/releases/index.html.

SOF releases will align 2 months (or as close as 2 months) after the Zephyr release to allow for productization and stabilization i.e. Zephyr 4.2 was released on 2025-07-18 so SOF 2.14 would be roughly 2 months around 2025-09-18.

@dbaluta are you free to be the release manager for v2.14 i.e. fork the stable-v2.14 and manage the tagging flows ?

@dbaluta I think we are good to fork a stable-v2.14 this week. There is only one PR that is pending for Sounddose support before fork, I dont think there is any critical fixes pending.
@thesofproject/amd @thesofproject/google @thesofproject/mediatek @thesofproject/nxp pls do bring up any fixes/patches pending in next day or two for v2.14

Thanks for the update. We don't have anything as of now. We have our Zephyr support ready and working fine with Timer scheduling. We will upstream in a month or so.

@johnylin76 @andyross if we can get a quick turn around on the Dolby review we could get Dolby in for v2.14. Sound Dose is the other big feature for this release. Thanks !
