Some SBDF files cannot be loaded using sbdf.import_data()

The attached SBDF file (in random-circular-set-1.zip) open fine in Spotfire but cannot be loaded using sbdf.import_data().

Trying a load:

import spotfire

data = spotfire.sbdf.import_data(
    "random-circular-set-1.sbdf",
)

results in:

Hi @tibco-slolla, thank you for raising issue.
The attached SBDF was exported using the following spotfire_table_metadata:

{'MapChart.IsGeocodingTable': [False], 'MapChart.IsGeocodingEnabled': [False]}.

Currently, the code uses this condition:

if gpd is not None and table_metadata.get('MapChart.IsGeocodingTable'):

However, this does not behave as expected when 'MapChart.IsGeocodingTable' is [False] (a list containing a single False value), as the condition still evaluates to True. This leads the code to incorrectly assume a Geometry column is present in the DataFrame.

We plan to improve the handling of table_metadata.get('MapChart.IsGeocodingTable') in future releases.
In the meantime, please export the SBDF using:

spotfire_table_metadata = {
    'MapChart.IsGeocodingTable': False,
    'MapChart.IsGeocodingEnabled': False
}

and try again.
