This is not a problem of the plug-in, but a problem when software for macOS has not been signed by the developer. This is not malice on the part of the developer; being able to sign it is also associated with costs. And Apple wants to protect inexperienced users. macOS uses Gatekeeper to protect users by verifying app signatures from developers.

Allowing Unsigned Apps on macOS
