Plan for release of 2.7.0

It would be nice with the recent activity if we could cut a release before the end of the year. Some things that would need to happen:

• Fix skipped tests
• Test Python 3.13 support
• Try to add Python 3.14 support
• Migrate away from setup.py Use hatch as build system instead of setuptools #848
• Use trusted deploy to pypi
• Remove (?) bump version that has been reported as not well maintained (Potential replacement: https://github.com/callowayproject/bump-my-version) Use hatch as build system instead of setuptools #848
• Update changelog
• Create a release candidate/beta prior to release
