unrecognized arguments: --password Pa$$w0rd01

I'm using Azure CLI 2.4.0 on MacOS.

When I follow the instruction towards the creation of the RBAC security:
az ad sp create-for-rbac --name TTapp --password Pa$$w0rd01

The CLI gives me error: "az: error: unrecognized arguments: --password Pa19428w0rd01"

I encountered the same error when following the instructions.
So instead of creating a Service Principal through Azure CLI, I created it through the Azure DevOps user interface (Azure DevOps > Project settings > Pipelines - Service connections > New service connection > Azure Resource Manager > Service principal (automatic))
