Customise scale bar

is it possible to customise vtm scale bar to the same look as in mapsforge,
like on the picture and how to do it?

i currently have

fun drawScaleBar() {
    val mapScaleBar = DefaultMapScaleBar(mapView.map())
    mapScaleBar.setColor(Color.parseColor("#aaaaaa"))
    val mapScaleBarLayer = MapScaleBarLayer(mapView.map(), mapScaleBar)
    mapScaleBarLayer.getRenderer().setPosition(GLViewport.Position.TOP_LEFT)
    mapScaleBarLayer.getRenderer().setOffset(5 * CanvasAdapter.getScale(), 5f)
    mapView.map().layers().add(mapScaleBarLayer)
}

but this creates some sort of standard scalebar ?

@victorlysak There is no such (vertical ?) scale bar in Mapsforge.

VTM and Mapsforge have the same scale bar design.

If you need something else, you need to implement it.

yes. all questions here are about vtm only

i'm trying to adapt my Map Processor (mapsforge) to vtm map processor because i want the text to be horizontal in the heading-up mode

so all q. in vtm are about vtm

so, how to get rid of miles and display only metric ? is it possible ?

Check the VTM samples, like the MapsforgeActivity.

Please take some time to study the library API and samples, everything is there.

the file says:

mapScaleBar.setScaleBarMode(DefaultMapScaleBar.ScaleBarMode.BOTH);

when i try to use it i get setScaleBarMode unresolved ???

any idea why?

The big advantage of open source code is, that you could read the whole code like a book. No hidden functions, nothing unexplained. Sometimes there could be some more comments, what's going on, but all of us could grab the code and debug it.

It is correct, that some one working on the library could answer your questions faster, but if you don't start to look into the library, you need always some one who could create the code for you. Start learning how the library work and you will have more advantages than always ask some one.

i found this:

mapScaleBar.scaleBarMode = DefaultMapScaleBar.ScaleBarMode.SINGLE

it works.

now, how can i change the size of the text of the scale bar, i cannot find it anywhere
the current is too small,
my eyes in the car about a meter from that text ?

@victorlysak Extend the scale bar class, override its draw methods and customize as you like.
See the scale bar code for the default implementation.
