Feature Request: Compact Toasts

Description

With Legion Remix constantly spamming us with toasts, screen is constantly just blocked with them. I know one option is to disable some toasts, but overall I think they take up too much space in general. I propose a Compact Layout option for those who want to clean up the screen a bit.

Below I've made a quick mock-up. There you can see how you can effectively reduce the space toasts take up by double the amount. Due to accessibility the sizing should still be adjusted, but that's not the point of a mockup :P

Hi! I get where you're coming from, but tbt, stuff like picrel is exactly the reason why they're the size they are 😅

They're more compact than even smallest default toasts, iirc, but they're big enough to fit in 2 lines of text in the description/lower area without truncating it which happens more often than you'd think. Recipes, achievements, items often have really long names. Traveller's log is the worst offender, even mine aren't big enough to house that!

They also need to have enough area to show extra bits of info like amount, loot rolls and whatnot.

You can scale them down, albeit only to 80% of their size, I could lower than number to like 60% tho.

That said, I do plan to rewrite toasts at some point down the line, the code is pretty old and fugly in certain areas, toasts themselves are overly complex, there's a bunch of widgets that aren't even used nowadays or I chose different ways of presenting that info. Like, originally, when I was making the addon I went over blizz toasts and made a list of ALL elements different toasts had and combined them into one.

Whenever that happens, I might add a compact mode, but it ain't happening for the time being, I'll be pretty busy this year with real life stuff. I won't even be here for the midnight release in march.

Yeah I understand especially with Midnight taking such a huge toll on all the devs.

I guess I got inspired by KR MMOs for the compact toasts, as much as I hate their UIs, the toasts are often compact (because there's a huge amount of them constantly popping up, lol)

Tbf, Korean and other Asian languages are extremely info dense, I mean the words. And their UIs typically take advantage of that, everything can be tight and compact. It's legit a huge challenge for localisers/translators to make non-Asian languages work with that little amount of space.

And even among non-Asian languages English is considered pretty compact, meanwhile you have languages like Russian and German with longass words. Even my "huge" toasts aren't big enough for those... 😭
