Description
one of the main reasons why i switched back to LinuxMint a few years ago was the perfect collaboration between different system components. especially the idea of Timeshift, combined with BTRFS as well as regular automated updates (including kernels) and, again, timeshift.
NOW I can start installing this system on all computers in my family and friend zone, since it doesn't matter whether the regular user knows about regular updates or any other things. just let the system do their thing and do your thing.
to make it even more user- and beginner-friendly, I would really like to see the live-installer adapted:
- Set BTRFS as standard during the live installation. maybe explain why.
- add a good "beginners" guide to the "manual" formatting, so any user can do the installation on their own. The "standard" installation is mostly useless, since it doesn't fit most of desires.
- automatically set timeshift and updates by default (and offer in the first boot window to change the settings).
