#2 Practice creating a branch

Branches let you experiment without breaking the main code. Let's practice!

Your Task:

1. Click on the branch dropdown (currently shows "main")
2. Type a new branch name: yourname-learning-branches
3. Click "Create branch: yourname-learning-branches from main"
4. Verify you're now on your new branch (check the dropdown)

Success Criteria:

• You created a branch with your name in it
• The branch dropdown now shows your branch name
• You understand that you're now working in a parallel version of the repository

To Think About:

• What happens to the main branch when you create a new branch?
• Can you switch back and forth between branches?
