BUG: Formatting and images in Alacritty #163

@CaffeinatedTech

Description

@CaffeinatedTech

Describe the bug

Alacritty doesn't appear to have native support for image rendering. Matcha in Alacritty renders ugly large links instead of the images making it difficult to read the actual message.

To Reproduce

  1. Open Alacritty
  2. Start Matcha
  3. Open email with embedded images

Expected behavior

I expect to be able to read my emails without having to read past a minefield of image links.

Option for handling lack of image previews:

  • Disable images, leave a placeholder like [image] and add a shortcut to show image links. Might even be handy when image previews are available, you don't always want to load the images in an email, they often contain tracking parameters.

Environment (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Linux
  • Terminal: Alacritty
  • Go Version: 1.25.4

Additional context

Yazi has similar image preview issues with Alacritty and suggest using ueberzugpp. I had trouble getting ueberzugpp to work on my arch install. Switching to Ghostty fixed the problem.
