New option for scene settings

Hi there,
Would that be possible (Or is it already possible) to set a list export setting to a scene created by an API or a scene that already exists when the API is started?

Thanks for your reply and advice, we are currently doing as per your suggestion and it works well for whoever in the team is familiar with APIs.
However, some of our users are also more confident using "traditionnal" Cadwork tool such as export list from scene even though those scenes were generated by a previous API.
It seems like a logical tool to have in scene_controller but I am obviously not sure if it is an achievable function.

What is your use case?
If someone is not programming, why is the export done via API and not manually via UI?
If you want to do it via API, this can be implemented via a plugin and your own UI/Dialog. So that a user does not have to interact with API calls.

What got me there is a couple of APIs that we are using to extract quantities at a pricing stage.
Main goal is: Exporting lists of various materials in multiple lists with their dedicated setting each (one list for the CLT elements, one list for the glulam, one list for the steel, ..)

1st step - Checking and sorting:

Each part is reviewed by an API to check if it has been attributed correctly:

• If yes: it is assigned to a scene (Called like "CLT - OK", "GLT - OK", "...")
• if no: it assigned to a scene named as per the topics that requires the user attention (Like, "Review treatment", "Check if nestable", ...)

Once all faulty parts are fixed the user is supposed to run the checking API again and get all scenes for faulty elements removed and then a window come up on the screen to confirm that all elements pass the checks

2nd step: Export the lists:
We got an other API that export the content of each scenes into a list and it uses the function that assign a list setting to them.

Overall the process works as you indicated.

However, once the scenes are ready and knowing each of them are made to match a specific list settings, then it sounds very logical for the draftsperson to use it the same way then any other scenes with such goal. It is a recent function in Cadwork that we appreciate a lot. But the scenes created by an API cannot be set up to this degree from python.
Alternatives:

• Having the scenes already made in the INIT and just assigned elements to them => No good has it forces our init to have a multitudes of scenes where only a few are used at a time.
• Setting the list export to the relevant scenes created => A manual process that we would love to avoid
• Just simply use the API => yes it works...

That is the reason why I ended up thinking that would sounds kind of logical to get that option from Python.
