edge-segment crossQuad/Cubic functions - possible infinite recursion

I've encountered a case where, crossQuad (and possibly crossCubic), can lead to infinite recursion. One solution would be to pass depth by reference.

I don't suppose you can post a small test case that reproduces it?

It doesn't seem to be an infinite recursion but it can take a very long time to compute (at least 10m) for some character even with the depth limit of 30. It happens to me on a bold '$' sign with 128x128 resolution and scale 2. Unfortunately, I cannot share the font.
As a workaround, I just lower the maximum depth.

I've gone ahead and added the extra check to master. Let me know if it helps with your issue.
