Test coverage fails sometimes on some environments

I ran into several errors and test failures while running test coverage on my local environment (Apple M1 Max).

This issue is reproducible, though it only occurs about once in a few attempts. I haven't seen this on an x64 machine, so it might be a processor-dependent problem (or might be just my M1 Mac? Idk).
