Spellcheck for NVDA

Introduction

Spellcheck is an add-on for NVDA. It allows users to spellcheck the currently selected text, and suggests corrections.

The add-on uses the enchant library, which in turn uses the hunspell dictionary data. Every required package is pre-built and included in the add-on's folder. Hence, we require only the glue code that connects enchant with NVDA.

User Experience

This is the usage scenario we're envisioning:

1. User Bob specifies a language he wants to spellcheck (maybe from the NVDA settings )
2. If the language dictionary is not available, give Bob the option to download it. Use any Hunspell dictionary repository (E.g. https://github.com/wooorm/dictionaries)
3. Bob types (or proofreads) some text in an editable control
4. Bob selects some text and presses a shortcut (E.g. NVDA + Shift + S) to run the spellchecker
5. If no spelling mistake is detected, a short sound is played and nothing happens further
6. If one or more spelling mistakes were detected, the add-on shows the list of spelling mistakes. When a spelling mistake entry is selected, Bob can tab once to focus a list of spelling suggestions
7. Bob can press enter to accept the spelling suggestion. When a spelling suggestion is accepted, the add-on will replace the misspelled word with the accepted suggestion

Help Needed

Unfortunately, I do not have the necessary time to commit to the development of this add-on. Nevertheless, I'll be always available for help and guidance.

I think this is a great opportunity for new add-on developers. This add-on is expected to be an important add-on for the majority of NVDA users.

First of all, thank you for mentioning me.
Second, I would love to take the opportunity to develop such an addon, since it would be useful to me just as useful as to others.
I am willing to work on it starting from next week, just after my TOEFL test.
It is true that it has some learning curves such as learning more about user interaction, because the users will have to interact with the suggestions, which makes it more interesting and exciting to me and rewarding opportunity.

Hi,
Today I was reading about the Enchant library, so I am aware of the top level functions etc, and I have a general idea how it works.
Thus, I think I can start working on this.
it is ok to create my own repository for this? or you prefer to be on this repository?
