What's the reason for including the bandframework repo's submodules (see https://github.com/bandframework/bandframework.github.io/tree/main/_pages/submodules)?

Maybe this is because some images or other context are used?

A temporary fix would be to update the submodule pointing to bandframework to be the develop branch of bandframework instead of the default branch.

UPDATE: the submodule is used to read in the current version of the SDK (in bandsdk.md) for the Software page.

The build failure due to pointing to an old commit is fixed. This led to new errors addressed separately.
