Hi!
I just threw wabt at a WASM binary module compiled against WASI SDK for the first time. To my surprise, the latest official wabt 1.0.39 binaries error out saying "wasi support not compiled in":
# wget https://github.com/WebAssembly/wabt/releases/download/1.0.39/wabt-1.0.39-linux-x64.tar.gz
# tar xf wabt-1.0.39-linux-x64.tar.gz
# wabt-1.0.39/bin/wasm-interp --wasi build/xmlwf/xmlwf
wasi support not compiled in
(Same with the wabt 1.0.34 shipped in Ubuntu 24.04.)
Is that to be expected? Is this planned to change? Are there limitations that make it impossible to ship binaries with WASI support baked in?
Thanks and best, Sebastian
