I think for the sole purpose of optimized streaming, we should absolutely read through their code and changes. As far as I understand, ESB doesn't have an easy way to change who you do/not retweet, unless I misread it.

Yeah, I think that's right. I like that they've thought through daemonization & figured adding an allow/block list would be a pretty easy next step with moderated tweets being some LOE beyond that.
