Software License

Hi,
Not sure if this is the place to put this, but
I was wondering if I could use/modify/adapt the code in this repo as part of my own project (with credits to the author and repo, of course), and so checking in to see whether this repo was supposed to come with a license.
GitHub's choosealicense says that no one can use this unless it comes with a license
