superimpose text on DigitalRain

Is it possible to superimpose text over the descending DigitalRain or to write text to the screen, which is gradually over-written by the descending DigitalRain ?

Using sprites makes it possible to achieve what you want. Have you looked at the sprite examples in TFT_eSPI? I'll create an example for it when I have the chance.
